Dad's speech

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Peace and blessings be upon our Prophet and beloved Messenger Muhammad, and upon his noble family, his righteous companions, and all those who follow them in goodness until the Day of Judgment.

I extend my warmest welcome to our honored guests, who have honored this gathering with their presence today. You are most welcome. My family and I are truly delighted to share this special occasion with you — an occasion we have long awaited and one made even more meaningful by your presence.

My daughter, Salam, has achieved a goal that I had long hoped she would attain, doing so with distinction, determination, perseverance, and true merit. She endured, and we endured with her, the hardships of distance and the constant anxiety that comes with being far from one another. Yet the goal was worthy of every sacrifice and every effort.

This academic achievement would not have been possible without the grace of God, and then the support that Sweden has provided for scientific research and academic excellence. This support was embodied by the distinguished Linköping University and Linköping University Hospital, together with their dedicated staff — physicians, professors, technicians, committee members, and everyone who contributed over the years to making this achievement possible.

To all of you, I extend my deepest gratitude, respect, and appreciation for your invaluable contribution to this achievement.

And to my precious daughter, Salam Abu Salim, I pray that God grants you success in writing another bright chapter in the service of humanity and of all those who await relief from their suffering.

May God make both you and your knowledge a source of benefit to others, and a lasting treasure for you in this life and the Hereafter.

My sincere thanks also go to Sweden for making it possible for us to be here among you today.
